Moisture. Some materials have a strong hygroscopicity, such as a wooden pallet, which cannot be used in a damp environment, otherwise it will directly affect the service life.
Use the cleanliness of the environment. Consider the degree of contamination of the pallet by the environment. In a highly polluted environment, it is important to choose a tray that is resistant to contamination and easy to clean. Such as plastic trays, composite plastic wood trays, etc.
The special requirements of the palletized material for the cargo carried. Sometimes the goods carried by the pallet are corrosive or the cargo carried requires the pallet to have a high degree of cleanliness. It is necessary to choose a plastic pallet with strong corrosion resistance or a plastic-wood composite pallet.
Choose according to purpose
Whether the goods carried on the pallet are used for export. Since many countries require fumigation and insecticidal treatment of packaging materials used for imported goods, it is equivalent to an increase in export costs. For export trays, disposable plastic trays or simple fumigant-free trays should be selected.
Whether the tray is on the shelf. Pallets used for shelf stacking should be selected from rigid, non-deformable, and highly loaded pallets; such as steel pallets and wooden pallets with harder hardwoods.
Choice of tray size
At present, there are four kinds of pallet specifications in the national standard, which are 1200mm×1000mm, ×200mm×800mm, 1140mm×1140mm and 1219mm×1016mm.
In order to make the pallets versatile in future use, these types of pallets should be selected as much as possible, so that the pallets can be exchanged and used in the future. Of course, various industries have formed their own original packaging dimensions for a long time, and it is understandable that there are some specific requirements for the size of the pallet. However, in the long run, the national standard size should be selected.
Consider the size of the transport and transport equipment. The appropriate tray size should be just the size of the transport, which can improve the reasonable and reasonable use of the transport space, save transportation costs, especially considering the size of the container and transport truck box, as shown in Table 2.

For pallets used for transportation, handling, loading and unloading, it is necessary to select trays with high strength and large dynamic loads. Because of the repeated use of this type of pallet and the use of the forklift, the strength of the pallet is required to be high. Therefore, the structure of the pallet is required to be "Tian" or "Chuan".
Depending on whether the pallets are to be stacked after loading the goods, decide whether to choose single-sided or double-sided pallets. Single-sided pallets are not suitable for stacking because they only have one bearing surface. Otherwise, it is easy to cause damage to the lower-level goods. Therefore, if you need to stack the goods after reloading the goods, you must choose double-sided pallets.
If the pallet is used on a shelf in a stereoscopic library, consider whether the pallet structure fits the code on the shelf. Since the goods can usually only be loaded from the shelves in two directions, the pallets used for the shelves should be selected from the four-sided fork tray as much as possible, so that the forklift can fork the goods and improve work efficiency. Such a tray generally selects the structure of the field line.
