At first glance, it's a black suit, a pair of sunglasses, and the faint echo of three musicians playing in the background. A 200-square-meter black-and-white space, where a melodrama unfolds as planned. This isn't the classic "cat" you'd expect on a stage, but rather the scene at the 13th Ningbo International Service Expo, where the Ningbo-based women's brand "Steven & Vivian" made their mark. The booth featured a chic yet low-cost pavilion design, paired with classic and novel fashion pieces that captured attention.
The event, held at the International Convention and Exhibition Center, centered around three key themes: "green," "quality," and "fashion." As visitors entered Hall 1, they were immediately drawn to a booth resembling the iconic "Bird’s Nest," which belonged to Ningbo Bo Yang Group's brand, Tang Lion. According to the brand's representative, the design was inspired by the Olympic Bird’s Nest and the music box from the Singapore Pavilion at the Expo. The goal was to express the brand's dynamic, youthful, and fashionable essence through sound, using eco-friendly materials to create a stylish musical environment.
In other parts of the exhibition, booths like "Ningbo Knight Knitting" and "Babylonia" — known for their children's wear — showcased delicate and atmospheric designs that dazzled attendees. "This year, we aimed for a simple yet generous design, keeping costs down to just 10,000 yuan," said Ms. Wang, who was responsible for the special decoration of the Knight Knitting booth.
With the ongoing financial crisis, many exhibitors have shifted focus from extravagant booth setups to improving product quality and style. "We focus on the goods," said the representative from "Spring Buds Children's Wear," adding that this year's exhibit emphasized new products, including elements from Japan and South Korea for the first time.
Meanwhile, the "G & Y" logo — a new initiative from Youngor Group — caught the attention of many exhibitors. "G & Y stands for Green Youngor," explained Youngor Lee, chairman of the group. "Green" represents vitality and authenticity, while "Youngor" reflects youth and energy. The brand aims to appeal to the younger generation with a modern, stylish image.
Industry experts noted that the shift from costly booth displays to more meaningful product presentations reflects not only the concept of green exhibitions but also a broader trend among companies to return to core values amid economic challenges. The Ningbo International Service Expo continues to serve as a vital platform for trade and economic development, showcasing innovation and growth in an evolving market.
